As you know the Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil' Wayne began his 1 year jail sentence in Rikers Island yesterday for his arrest in July 2007. He pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon by admitting he had the loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus. In support of Lil' Wayne we have provided this Limited Edition "Free Weezy" tee that drops at both Tradition locations tomorrow. You're not a true Lil' Wayne fan if you don't pick one of these up. Phone Orders are available (805)497-4717 or (805)643-8805.

Lil' Wayne has gotten a temporary reprieve from jail for dental surgery. His sentencing in a NYC gun case was postponed today and his lawyer says "Wayne needs to finish a string of recent surgeries for a dental problem before he goes to jail." I wonder if its all the bling in his mouth?
Looks like part of his plea deal was to not serve it in a state prison system, but in a city jail system like Rikers Island. The reporter said it could eventually be reduced to an 8 month sentence if he’s on good behavior. Be on the lookout for a surprise at Tradition in support of Weezy.

VH1 has recently decided to relaunch their long running music documentary series "Behind The Music." There's no better way to set it off than an episode about one of the biggest rappers alive...
The network announced on Thursday (March 19) that the seminal documentary program will be relaunched, and Lil Wayne and Scott Weiland have already signed on.
“We had to rethink a little bit and look at these current artists that are really big stars now, and maybe it isn’t the classic rise and fall,” Krim told MTV News on Thursday. “There’s the classic ‘Behind the Music’ arc, but in this crop we wanted to get some artists that were on top of their game now instead of looking back. And also, just because their big stars now doesn’t mean they necessarily have a great ‘Behind the Music’ kind of story.
“From our research, [Lil Wayne] certainly does. From the fact that when he was a kid he accidentally shot himself and almost died at age 12 while playing with a gun, he went through Katrina, he has [a possible stint in] jail pending. He has all the requisite drama in his life, which I think ultimately makes for the great story. The fact that he’s one of the biggest stars out there makes it the right combination that we’re looking for.
The revamped “Behind The Music” is set to debut in July. As of press time, the air date for Lil Wayne’s episode has not been scheduled.
In case you missed Katie Couric's interview with Lil' Wayne last night, here it it in it's entirety. Who knew that Wayne has was a bowler? He even has 4 custom balls!
Junior Reid has collaborated with a bunch of artists including the Wu Tang Clan, Fat Joe, Alicia Keys, Fabolous, Mims and more, but it was his sample inclusion in The Game’s 2006 album, “The Doctors Advocate” that solidified Reid's name in the eyes of the public and won him over a new generation of fans. Junior Reid is back, this time including a verse from Lil' Wayne on his newest track "Ghetto Youth's Rock" which is actually one of the best Wayne tracks I have heard in a minute.
Damm... Wayne won't stop! 22 new tracks? Didn't he drop his last mixtape less than 2 weeks ago? Download his newest mixtape "The Drought is Over" here.
KANYE WEST FT. LIL' WAYNE- TELL EVERYBODY THAT YOU KNOW
Another new leak from Kanye's upcoming "808's and Heartbreak" just hit the net. This time he linked up with Lil' Wayne to bring us another auto tuned slow jam called "Tell Everybody That You Know." Overall this is one of the best tracks that I have heard from Kanye's album. I'm not really feeling his new direction, but this song isn't bad. Decide for yourself.
We also have another track from Kanye West featuring Young Jeezy called "Amazing" that features a dope verse from Jeezy.
"I created a thing I call Heartbreak. It's like a mixed drink of auto tune, distortion with a little bit of delay on it, and a whole bunch of life that I put onto records. That's what I call my heartbreak, and that's what every record basically has. I'm delivering what I feel is art and that's what I want to deliver at this point from now on."
According to TMZ, Lil' Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., was arrested near Yuma, Arizona last night on three felony counts: possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Drug Enforcement Agency was involved in the arrest -- which means it's a big deal! Supposedly, Lil' Wayne's tour bus went through a US Border Patrol checkpoint when the narcotics were allegedly found, that's when the DEA was called in. What will the world do if the greatest rapper alive is behind bars? Even if it's only for a week, at the rate that Wayne is turning out verses, that could mean an entire lost mixtape!
