Let's face it... Dr. Dre's Detox may never see the light of day... Here's a little mixtape I found which features 9 tracks that leaked, that probably won't even be on The Detox if it ever comes out! In stores Neveruary!!!! Haha... You can download it here.
1. Coming Back ft. T.I. 2. This Is Detox (I Am Hip-Hop) ft. T.I. & Kobe 3. It’s Like That ft. Prophet 4. Untitled reference track ft. Nino Bless 5. Say Dr. Dre ft. Crooked I 6. Topless ft. Nas & T.I. 7. Shit Popped Off ft. T.I. 8. OG’s Theme ft. Ludacris 9. The Doctor ft. Young Knox
Here are a few leaks from Eminem's upcoming Relapse: Refill which is due out on December 21st. It's good to hear Em rhyming with Dre, but Marshall's weird fake Jamaican accents really gets on my nerves.
Here's a new video from one of my favorite tracks from Raekwon's OB4CL2, the Dr. Dre produced "Catalina." I spy an Akomplice fitted in the video as well!
"I'm just trying to get on... Leave a couple mil' to my kids when I'm gone... That ain't cologne, It's the smell of this money"
GLASSES MALONE FT. SLIM THE MOBSTER - MUTHA FUCKIN' STREETS
Here's a brand new Dr. Dre produced track from Glasses Malone called "Mutha Fuckin' Streets." This shit sounds like some classic Dre material, and was supposedly something Dre was working on for The Detox.
DJ KAY SLAY FT. 50 CENT - DREAMIN' (PRODUCED BY DR. DRE)
Here's a new track from 50 Cent called "Dreamin'." The track was produced by Dr. Dre, and is from DJ Kay Slay’s upcoming album, More Than A DJ, dropping October 27th. I wonder if The Game is heated because Curtis can still get Dre beats...
Here's an unreleased track called "Poor Young Dave" from the Doctor's Chronic Re-Lit. The Chronic is the album the introduced Snoop to the world, and changed the face of West Coast gangsta rap forever. The Chronic Re-Lit releases today, and features 7 unreleased songs including some lost tracks from Kurupt, Daz, Jewell & CPO as well as more Snoop Doggy Dogg.
The 2 disc reissue of Dr. Dre's The Chronic is set to be released on August 31st with 7 bonus tracks... Amazon has posted snippets of both discs, which include the unreleased tracks. You can listen to them here. Let's see what else gets released from the vaults of Death Row.
Dr. Pepper... Headphones... Computer speakers... Where the hell is Detox???
Dr. Dre is part of an ambitious plan being launched by Hewlett-Packard and Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine, to improve the sound quality of digital music.
Under the new agreement, Hewlett-Packard’s laptops and headsets will feature the Beats by Dr. Dre software starting this Fall according to CNET.
“We have to fix the entire chain,” Iovine told CNET. “Our position is to go to all the sources and try to improve sound and educate people. We can’t put anything weak in the line. Whoever puts out things that sound bad shouldn’t be as cool as something that sounds great.”
The goal is to improve the quality of digital sound files. Last year, Dr. Dre and Iovine teamed with Monster Cable and released their Beats By Dr. Dre headphones in a first attempt to address the issues with digital files.
Celebrities like LeBron James, Snoop Dogg and Kobe Bryant have been seen wearing the high-end headphones, which retail for around $300 dollars.
“I just want our product to sound better,” Iovine said. “The record business committed many, many mistakes in the last 10 years, and I’m right in there. One of them was letting its product get degraded. It’s one thing to let it get stolen, it’s another to allow it to be degraded because then you really don’t have a chance…video games and TV quality are getting better and the quality of our work is getting lower. If that happens, then music will become disposable. That’s something we can fix.”
I'm not sure if Dr. Dre's Detox will ever see the light of day... The album has been in the works almost as long as Chinese Democracy. For now, the closest we will get to a new Dre track is these reference tracks that keep getting leaked on the net... I would have to say, Ludacris does a pretty good Dre on this track called "The OG's Theme."
KADINALL OFFISHALL FT. DR. DRE AND PUSHA T - SET IT OFF
Here's the story from DJ Skee himself: We (Skee.TV) shot the “Set It Off” video for Kardinal ft. The Clipse, and Jimmy Iovine loved it and sent it to Dre direct (since we had the Beats By Dre headphones in it). Then, Dre loved the song & video so much he was inspired to do a verse on it that night (I got called by the label the next day saying Dre rapped on it after being inspired by our video- a pretty good feeling). This was when he was still trying to come out with Detox this year and he wanted to start hopping on records… needless to say, those plans later changed, and thus the remix never came out (it just leaked somehow today, but was done months ago), but it is 100% real and official…
Check out the remix to Kardinall Offishall's "Set It Off" Featuring Dr. Dre and Pusha T here.
