Opening yesterday and running through till April 26 next year, acclaimed Movie Director Tim Burton is exhibiting a host of drawings, paintings and sketches all of which have been collated throughout his illustrious career. The exhibition takes place at New York’s Museum of Modern Art where further Burton works will be available to purchase. This video gives a fairly in depth behind-the-scenes insight to the way in which the exhibition came about, and what it means to Mr. Burton. I have actually had the chance to meet Tim while my mother was working with him years ago. We still have some of his sketches that we have yet to see surface. If your traveling to New York, don't miss this exhibit.
The Philadelphia 76ers have reconsidered their stance about bringing back franchise icon Allen Iverson and are weighing the merits of signing him, but team sources told ESPN.com today that Iverson's return is not a certainty and that no face-to-face meetings between Iverson and anyone from the franchise have been scheduled. The sources said Iverson is just one of the free agent guards Philadelphia is considering since losing Lou Williams for eight weeks because of a broken jaw, but he jumped to the top of their list for several reasons; the severity of Williams' injury, the fact that Iverson's agent reached out to the 76ers asking for a second chance, and his box office appeal.
"We discussed him like we would any free agent, but we understand he's not just any free agent," one source told ESPN.com. "Are we thinking about it? Yes. But it hasn't gone beyond that."

Allen Iverson is set to retire from the NBA, according to an online report. Commentator Stephen A. Smith published a statement on his Web site Wednesday attributed to Iverson. It said Iverson plans to retire but also that "I feel strongly that I can still compete at the highest level."
The 10-time All-Star played three games this season with Memphis before taking a leave of absence to attend to personal matters. He was waived after the two sides agreed to part ways. It was the second straight ugly ending for Iverson, who was unhappy last season playing for the Pistons. He was upset that Detroit coach Michael Curry and Memphis' Lionel Hollins used the former MVP as a reserve.
Why can't all girls be this easy to give gifts to? I didn't hear one mentioning of purses, heels, or other extremely expensive stuff. Yet another reason why Chris Brown continues to fail at life right now. - Richard

Federal agents from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and local police today seized wood, guitars, computers and boxes of files from Gibson Guitar's Massman Road manufacturing facility.
Sources say the Nashville-based guitar manufacturer is being investigated for violating the Lacey Act, a key piece of environmental law, for importing endangered species of rosewood from Madagascar.
Rosewood is widely used in the construction of guitars and sells for $5,000 per cubic meter, more than double the price of mahogany. The island nation off Africa's east coast is a key producer of the hardwood, the export of which has links to international criminal activity.
A statement from Gibson released late Tuesday afternoon says the company is "fully co-operating" with the investigation.
"Gibson Guitar is fully cooperating with agents of the United States Fish & Wildlife Service as it pertains to an issue with harvested wood. Gibson is a chain of custody certified buyer who purchases wood from legal suppliers who are to follow all standards. Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO [Henry Juszkiewicz] sits on the board of the Rainforest Alliance and takes the issue of certification very seriously. The company will continue to cooperate fully and assist our federal government with all inquiries and information," the company's statement said.
Madagascar has struggled financially since a January coup and new President Andry Rajoelina issued an executive order in September legalizing the export of rosewood and ebony. The move was decried by environmental groups and political leaders worldwide, as hardwood forests are key to Madagascar's unique ecology and serve as a habitat for a dwindling lemur population.
Sources tell NashvillePost.com Gibson was involved in a scheme that shipped the wood from Madagascar to Germany and then to the United States.

As you can see Bangs is starting to blow all over the nation. Here's his interview on Eminem's radiostation Shade 45 with Lord Sear and Rude Jude, callers go in on African artist Bangs and clown him hard. Not sure he knows he's being clowned, its too funny.
Before you watch this insane music video by Jérémie Perin, note that is totally not safe for work. Its video game inspired animation contains pixellated 8-bit depictions of both sex and pooping. The look is a pixel-perfect replication of the era of video games I grew up playing. And though it’s sad that there are no more games being made that look like this, I am thrilled to be living in an age when the kids who grew up with this aesthetic are now the grown-ups making new things of their own.

Brandon Jennings was shut out in the first quarter. Then he went to work and wiped out a record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Jennings scored 55 points, breaking Abdul-Jabbar's franchise rookie record, to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a come-from-behind 129-125 victory tonight over the Golden State Warriors.
Jennings poured in 29 points in the third quarter, then 16 in the fourth to hold off the Warriors and become only the third Bucks player to score more than 50. The last to do it was Michael Redd, who set the franchise record with 57 points against Utah on Nov. 11, 2006.
It's been a minute since we heard anything new from Kanye but here's a snippet of his new joint "So Appalled." I'll post the whole joint when I get it. You can download it here.

Better known to most Armenians by his nickname, Dodi Gago, Tsarukian is believed to be Armenia's wealthiest citizen . The former world arm-wrestling champion is also head of the second largest political party in the Armenian National Assembly as well as the President of the Armenian National Olympic Committee.

Saying he is willing to initiate the movement, LeBron James would like to see any NBA player who wears No. 23 to choose another number as homage to Michael Jordan. With Jordan looking on from a third-row seat Thursday night, James scored 34 points to help the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Heat 111-104 in Miami. Afterward, the reigning MVP told TNT he plans to switch his number from 23 to 6 after this season.
"I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon," said James, who has worn 23 since he was a high school sophomore. "There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Dwyane Wade if there wasn't Michael Jordan first.
"He can't get the logo [Hall of Famer Jerry West's silhouette adorns the NBA's logo], and if he can't, something has to be done. I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. I'm starting a petition, and I've got to get everyone in the NBA to sign it. Now, if I'm not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it."
MIXTAPE: FREEWAY & JAKE ONE - THE BEAT MADE ME DO IT

Two quills hover in front of the sword with a ribbon spiraling around the design. The words written on the ribbon read: Mighty Is the Pen.
The pen is stronger than the sword, but the bloodshed and sacrifices made by war and violence create the ink that is used to govern the world. It is a balance between ideals and action, a thought out plan and swift execution, and the poetry of swordsmanship.

The Grand Sport Sang Bleu wears polished aluminum body panels with blue-tinted (not painted) carbon fiber composite surfaces that show off the fabric-like material’s gorgeous weave. New wheels feature a midnight blue and diamond-cut finish, and the cockpit is dressed in sensational new gaucho leather. The Sang Bleu utilizes Bugatti’s quad-turbocharged W-16 engine producing 1,001 horsepower and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The topless Sang Bleu will blast to 60 mph in about 2.5 seconds and blur the scenery at 217 mph before the laws of physics stop the advance. Bugatti hasn’t stated a price for the Sang Bleu, or even mentioned whether the sole example is for sale. If it does hit the market, it is likely to sell for close to $2.5 million.
California used to be a breeding ground for hip-hop all-stars but lately it seems like the well has run dry. You never know what to expect when someone new steps in the game. Dash’s name has popped up in headlines dealing with Beanie Sigel’s recent lash-out against Jay-Z. During some recent interviews, Beans accused Dash of shady business dealings when the two were putting out the State Property PRO-Keds sneakers.
“Him and the licensee who licensed Roc-A-Wear went behind my back and obtained the license to the company that was licensing PRO-Keds and stopped making the State Property PRO-Keds,” Beans said on Philadelphia radio station Power 99. “It was all geared towards Roc-A-Wear.”
Dame said he did not want to address any specifics regarding Sigel, but did say he did not want any beef.
“I love Jay, I love Beans — what’s the reason for beef?” Dash responded. “That’s stupid. What’s the reason for beef? People die, people don’t feel good — I want people to laugh. What’s up, y’all?”
Dame was shocked to hear Beanie on the radio.
“I was surprised. I was hurt for him, more or less, because I know that ain’t him,” Dash said. “But I don’t want to speak on that. Whatever [Beanie's] going through where he’s got to do that … I could understand where he may look at things and feel that way. I can see that. He’s probably got a lot of people around him and nobody to really tell him what’s going on. It was a different environment for Roc-A-Fella back then. I feel bad for those cats. I love those cats. I hate that they struggle. I hate it. I hate to see anybody struggle. I don’t embrace that. I’m not one of those dudes that get happy when I hear something bad about somebody I had a bond with. I really loved those dudes. You see Ski down there, I knew Ski for 20 years. That’s my man. Sometimes people have different agendas for why they don’t wanna be my friend. But at the end of the day, I’m always there for them.”

TRADITION PRESENTS: MEAR & YEM :CRITICAL: THIS SATURDAY!
Tradition is proud to present :Critical: a 2 person art show featuring the artwork of Mear and Yem, two of LA's most prolific graffiti writers. :Critical: examines the nature of these two legendary graffiti writers and their approach to fine art.
MEAR ONE: examines the aspects of content that accompany any piece of art. He is literally working on communicating some of what we as a society have forgotten or are unable to see.
YEM: navigates through a multi-media platform where information (data) and art intersect. The result is a visual experiment that tests the icons of the culture industry. His work involves a participation in which Theodor Adorno claims that it goes under the name of terror in mass culture. He is a pioneer of the Los Angeles graffiti/urban art movement and has shown through out the US and Europe. He is self taught.
:Critical: opens November 7th, and runs through January 2nd. Opening Reception is November 7th from 7-11. Drinks and music provided.

Scoring and shooting are historically at their lowest in the first month of the NBA season and then steadily climb. But that's not the way this season has started. To greet the new type of rims rolled in by the league last month, league-wide scoring has risen by nearly five points through the first seven days of the regular season compared to last season. Teams are averaging a hearty 99.96 points per game, up from 95.17 during the same span in 2008-09. The league switched rim manufactures for the 2009-10 season, introducing a new Spalding basket system that includes the "Arena Pro 180 Goal" rim, which breaks away at both the front and sides. Previous collapsible rims used in the NBA broke away only from the front.
Graduation The Musical is a blend of Kanye West’s music and the artists he’s sampled in the past. The ultimate goal of the project was to turn every song into a story that listeners can experience. So many people outside of the world of Hip Hop feel that sampling is a cheap form of production but its the exact opposite. In Hip Hop sampling is a way to keep music from the past alive. The project was initially inspired by a Kanye West concert in which Kanye played a mix of his music as well as the artists he’d sampled. You can download the mixtape here. Shouts to KN.
