EMINEM 69'D BY BRUNO

Those of you who may not have been watching the MTV Movie Awards awards right now just missed the funniest thing ever. Bruno, the gay character played by Sasha Baron Cohen was dropped down during the awards on Eminem and his crew. Bruno ended up coming down in a 69 position on EM. Its was hilarious, some say it was planned but after further review I say its real. Just look at Em's and his crews faces. They were pissed. Classic!

LAKERS LOVE "CHICKEN NUGGETS"

Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers are heading back to the NBA Finals after dispatching the Denver Nuggets with a 119-92 victory in Game 6 tonight. Bryant got plenty of scoring help from Trevor Ariza, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom as the Lakers shot 57.3 percent from the field to avoid having to play a Game 7 in the Western Conference finals back at the Staples Center. Odom and Gasol both scored 20 points and Ariza had 17, and the Lakers made all 24 of their free throws. The finals begin Thursday, at Los Angeles if Orlando wins, and at Cleveland if the Cavaliers prevail.

KANYE SPEAKS ON JAY'S BP3

Kanye West has been hard at work, dishing out tracks for Jay-Z's 10th studio album (damn...that's alot), the long anticipated Blueprint III. Kanye is handling that majority of the production on the album, and they recently went back and made some changes to the songs, removing all the songs with Auto-Tune from his album (thank God... Do we really need Jay sounding like a washed up T-Pain???).

“We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album,” West said, “to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune!

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Kanye laughed about Jay not wanting to incorporate the sound that is featured so heavily on Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak. “It’s music; it’s just sonics. I like Auto-Tune so I do it, but you want the other thing — like you’ll wear a suit to a wedding and gym shoes to a basketball game. I think it’s a perfect moment for Jay to provide some gym shoes to a basketball game right now.”

MIKE TYSON'S DAUGHTER DIES

The 4-year-old daughter of boxer Mike Tyson died at a hospital today, a day after her neck apparently got caught in a treadmill cord at her Phoenix home, police said.Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead just before noon, police Sgt. Andy Hill said. She had been on life support and police have said their investigation showed her injury on Monday was a "tragic accident." "There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus," the family said in a statement. "We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal."

Police said Exodus either slipped or put her head in the loop of a cord hanging under the console. Her 7-year-old brother found her and told their mother. She took Exodus off the cord, called 911 and tried to revive her. Responding officers and firefighters performed CPR as they took the girl to the hospital. Former heavyweight champion Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident and flew Monday to Phoenix, where he was seen entering the hospital. The family's home is in a modest, quiet neighborhood. Neighbors say they saw Tyson there from time to time and the children played outside regularly.

JOSE CANSECO LOSES IN MMA DEBUT

YOKOHAMA, Japan- Jose Canseco came out swinging but didn't last long in his debut in mixed martial arts. The former Oakland Athletics slugger was defeated by South Korean super heavyweight Hong Man Choi by a knockout just 1 minute, 17 seconds into the first round at Yokohama Arena. Canseco hurt his right knee shortly into his MMA debut and lost in 1 minute, 17 seconds.
The referee stopped the fight when the 7-foot-2, 330-pound Choi knocked Canseco to the mat and started punching his head.

"That's a big man," Canseco said after the fight. "I ran into one of his left jabs and that almost knocked me out. You have no idea how scary it was facing a man that big." Canseco did land the first blow with a right to the upper body of Choi but that was all the damage he could inflict on the Korean giant. "I hurt my knee back home real bad but I didn't want to disappoint the fans," Canseco said. "I knew that at some point during the fight my knee was going to give out and once I was down I knew I wasn't going to get up. He's just too heavy to move."

During the early 80s, it was Zephyr who was part of the first wave of graffiti artists who made the transition into the galleries in the East Village. Alongside fellow artists Futura 2000 and Dondi White, Zephyr helped take graffiti to the next level; pulling it out of the streets and putting it into the galleries, their phenomenal work gained the praise and respect of graffiti heads, collectors, and art critics alike.

DOLLA'S LIL BROTHER SPEAKS (R.I.P)

7 TIME CHAMPION HORRY CAN'T FIND RINGS

When you have won 7 championship rings, it may be difficult to keep track of all of them. Robert Horry, however, admitted Thursday that he is uncertain of the location of all seven of his rings which three won with the Lakers and two each with the Rockets and Spurs. The recently retired Horry said a recent move has left his rings MIA and he believes movers may have placed his jewelry box amongst dozens of unopened boxes, against his orders.

"I never wear them and the thing is, I don't know where they are," he said on a conference call to recall playoff memories. "I just moved and they are in a box somewhere. The movers weren't supposed to touch it, but they touched it, but I am hoping they are in the house somewhere. I usually keep them in the bathroom in a drawer."

BABY SHAQ?

Orlando center Dwight Howard knocked down the 24-second shot clock above the basket with a ferocious dunk the first time he touched the ball in last night's Eastern Conference final against the Cleveland Cavaliers. After grabbing a rebound, Howard went up underneath and slammed the ball through with both hands and pulled on the rim for Orlando's first basket. The 24-second stanchion, a 5-foot-tall appendage that has cameras mounted to its top, then fell slowly backward. A maintenance crew came out with ladders but couldn't fix the clock. The shot clock at the opposite end was turned off and two portable units were placed on both baselines. A tape measure was then brought out to check if Howard had pulled the rim lower than its required 10 feet. Play was stopped for eight minutes.

CLIPPERS GET #1 PICK

The ping pong balls were favorable for the Los Angeles Clippers today, we got the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Blake Griffin here we come! If anyone needed a miracle its the Clippers.

THE CLIPSE TALK PLAY CLOTHS

The Clipse made to the move into the clothing game just a few seasons ago. Their first two seasons of Play Cloths literally flew off the shelves of the top boutiques around the globe. While putting the finishing touches on their upcoming album "'Til The Casket Drops," the boys from The Clipse are gearing up to dropthe new season of Play Cloth. Street Level sat down with The Clipse to talk Play Cloths.

Y'all debuted Play Cloths at Magic in '08. How have you been refining it since then?

P: We just been trying to get on calendar with the s***. This is our third season out and this is our first season on calendar with summer. We've already sold it. It's great. People love it. The first two seasons were just as good too. It looked really good in the stores and everybody liked it so [we're] just pushing forward and creating more and preparing for the future.

Is their any fashion wisdom you picked up from Pharrell and his Billionaire Boys Club, as far as pushing Play Cloths?

M: That's pretty much what jump started it. Rubbing elbows with Pharrell looking at what he's doing, being introduced to Nigo, ya know, and having our fans just being influenced by our fashion. It only made sense for us to go ahead and try our hands at the clothing line. I think thus far it's been successful and I'm really happy about it.

Clipse definitely had some influence in getting Bape out there, was that a motivator too?

M: [Nod their heads] Exactly

P: Yeah, definitely . . . BAPE definitely helped put us in a lane and in a light and I think we did a lot for that company too. The whole inspiration behind it was a fan thing. We going to the show and we got on the exclusive shit we just got in the mail and the fans be like, "Oh shit!" This is before I'm really Hypebeasting and shit. I'm just like, "Nah, Nigo just threw this s*** over here." They're like, "Yo, he got on the general jacket, but it's his area code numbers up there!" I'm like, "Okay, let's get a crack at it."

You can read the rest of the interview here. Expect to see the new delivery of Play Cloths at Tradition this week!

BREAKING NEWS: RAPPER DOLLA SHOT AND KILLED AT BEVERLY CENTER

The man shot at the Beverly Center mall this afternoon was identified as Atlanta-based Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II. Dolla was shot in the head around 3:10 p.m. while he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, waited in the area after shopping at the popular Westside mall. About two hours later, Los Angeles police detained a "person of interest" as he attempted to board a plane out of Los Angeles International Airport. The man allegedly drove his silver Mercedes SUV from Beverly Center to the airport. Dolla had gotten into an altercation with other passengers on a flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles, but it's unclear if that was related to the violence.

LAPD officials said that officers were sent to the mall on a report of a group fight, possibly involving a knife. LAPD Sgt. Ronnie Crump said two suspects ran in the direction of Beverly Hills. At a Chipotle restaurant in the mall, several people were eating when the shots rang out. "The customers were yelling 'close the store, close the store, because somebody is shooting,' " said Elsa Hernandez, general manager of the restaurant. An employee who was behind the restaurant, near the mall's valet parking service, saw the tail end of the dispute, Hernandez said. "He saw a lady ... shooting a handgun," Hernandez said.

T.I. SERVING ONLY 2 MONTHS?

T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., must report to Forrest City's low-security federal prison by noon on May 26, according to court filings. There, Harris will join 1,500 other inmates as he serves a year-and-one-day prison sentence after pleading guilty in March to federal weapons charges in Atlanta.
The rapper, the self-proclaimed "King of the South," had faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each charge in his three-count indictment.
Harris will be credited for 305 days of home detention he already has served after being charged, so his stay at the Forrest City prison likely will be only two months.

LAKERS DESTROY ROCKETS BY 40

Kobe Bryant needed only three quarters to score 26 points and the Los Angeles Lakers bounced back from their Game 4 flop, killing the Houston Rockets in a 118-78 tonight to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference semifinals. Lakers did everything they didn't do in Sunday's 99-87 loss at Houston they hustled, rebounded and played tight defense on Houston's smaller lineup, keeping Aaron Brooks in check. Lakers are going to close it out thursday. Be sure to stop by Tradition and get the hottest Lakers tees.

BURNING FIGHT

Saturday night I may the trip down to Pomona to catch the West Coast book release show for Burning Fight. Burning Fight: The Nineties Hardcore Revolution in Ethics, Politics, Spirit, and Sound is a book focusing on 90's hardcore written by a hardcore kid turned school teacher, Brian Peterson. The book draws upon the memories of many who played influential roles in the scene and understand what made this era of hardcore so unique, and it includes lengthy interviews from a ton of bands including Undertow, Unbroken, Strife (my Band), Mouthpiece, Integrity, Shelter, Endpoint, and many more.
This show featured sets by 3 very influential bands from the 90's: Unbroken from San Diego, Undertow from Seattle, and Threadbare from Minnesota. All proceeds from the sold out show went to charity, and as you can see from the photos below, a good time was had by all.

I first met Unbroken in the early 90's. We played a basement show together out in Chula Vista back when they had Brian "Iron Jaw" on vocals. Our guitar player at the time owned New Age Records, and he quickly signed Unbroken and released their first 7" You Won't be Back.

Unbroken released their first album, Ritual, in 1993, but it was their second album Life, Love. Regret that would really define Unbroken as a band.

Undertow was a Straight Edge hardcore band from Seattle. To be honest, I can't even remember the first time that I met these guys. We played with Undertow a bunch of different times, and even borrowed their van for a cross country tour. Everyone from Undertow except for John came in the van with us (Their were over 12 of us in that van), and we all became close friends.

Unfortunately I missed Threadbare's set. I got to the show at 8:30 only to find out that they played at 7:15. They should have played much higher on the bill if only for the fact the they came all the way from Minnesota and they never once made it to California when they were an active band. Threadbare's album Feeling Older Faster is one of my favorite records from the 90's and still hold up to this day.

I chilled with Ryan from Chain Of Strength (far left) for a good portion of the night. We talked about the possibility of a Chain reunion, their official collab tee with The Hundreds, as well as a ton of other stuff. I have known Ryan forever, and it's always good to see him. On the far right is my homey Mitch from Chula Vista. He booked shows in his basement, which he called "Club Mitch." He booked our first show with Unbroken and House of Suffering (which may have been our first SD show ever) in his basement (Photos from that show made it on the insert to our 7" My Fire Burns On)

Here's a photo of me and Dave Mandel. Dave used to do Indecision Fanzine, and continues to release records on his label also called Indecision. He's also the man behind the extremely limited 3 album Unbroken discography that is already selling for a ton on Ebay. Indecision is already almost up to it's 90th release, and Dave has something special planned for number 100!

Last but not least is Burning Fight author Brian Peterson with Scott Beiben (Bloodlink Records, Retrieval Inc.). I've known Scott forever, and it's always go to see him doing his thing. You can order Burning Fight from Revelation Records. You can check out more photos from the show here.

ROCKETS TIE SERIES 2-2

With Yao Ming out, the Houston Rockets had no chance to beat OUR Los Angeles Lakers. Right? Wrong. Rockets Aaron Brooks scored a career-high 34, Shane Battier sank five 3-pointers and added 23 and the Rockets beat the Lakers 99-87 on Sunday to even their Western Conference semifinal at two games apiece. If you watched the game you saw Lamar Odom take that hard fall, hope he is going to be able to get treatment on that back. Game 5 is Tuesday night in Los Angeles, anyone want to scalp a ticket with me?

GOLDEN SHOWER ALE?

This commercial is classic. Can't wait for the sequel, Dirty Sanchez!

THE GAME - BANG ALONG

Here's a new joint from The Game called "Bang Along." The track is pretty dope. My favorite line has to be "I ain't goin lie, I used to do the Hammer Dance, make it worse I had steel toes on and hammer pants." Check it out here.

MERCEDES -BENZ 300SL GULLWING PANAMERICANA

Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Panamericana Concept is a creation of a modern-day 300SL that will blend the classic shape with contemporary technology and materials. The 300SL's body is made out of aluminum-reinforced fibreglass while the chassis is constructed from powder coated RHS steel. The vehicle will come with an independent suspension with adjustable coil overs, four wheel disk brakes, "old-school" 17-inch AMG alloy wheels wrapped in 235/45 R17 Continental Sport Contact tires and most importantly, a 5.5 liter Mercedes-Benz V8 engine hooked up to a six speed transmission. In the 300SL Panamericana, the V8 will produce around 370HP and 530Nm of torque. The company said that in 2010 we should see this masterpiece.

YAO OUT FOR REST OF THE PLAYOFFS

Yao Ming's season is over after medical examinations revealed a stress fracture in his left foot. It bothered him throughout Game 3 and he was limping visibly toward the end of the game, finally limping to the bench in the waning minutes. Already trailing the Lakers two games to one in the best-of-seven conference semifinals, the Rockets can start booking their offseason plans. Yao's injury, following a season-ending injury to Dikembe Mutombo in the first round vs. Portland, leaves the Rockets literally short at center. GO LAKERS!! Don't forget to stop by Tradition to get all the hottest new Lakers gear.

KOBE SAFE BUT D-FISH IS SUSPENDED

Here's the Kobe vs Artest altercation

Here's Derek Flooring Scola

Last nights Laker vs Rockets game was crazy. 5 Technicals and 2 ejections! Today the NBA said that Lakers' Kobe Bryant has been assessed a flagrant foul one for elbowing Houston's Ron Artest in the chest area in the fourth quarter. He's very lucky Ron Artest didn't beat his ass. Derek Fisher wasn't so lucky. Fisher has been suspended for striking Houston's Luis Scola with his shoulder and head in the third quarter of the Lakers' 111-98 win last night over the Rockets in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals. Fisher received a flagrant foul two and was ejected.

DODGERS MANNY RAMIREZ SUSPENDED

Dodgers Manny Ramirez was suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball today, becoming the latest high-profile player ensnared in the sport's drug scandals. The Los Angeles Dodgers star said he did not take steroids and was prescribed medication by a doctor that contained a banned substance. The commissioner's office didn't announce the specific violation by the 36-year-old outfielder, who apologized to the Dodgers and fans for "this whole situation."

"Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was OK to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons. I want to apologize to Mr. McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, Mr. Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation."

However, two sources told ESPN's T.J. Quinn and Mark Fainaru-Wada that the drug used by Ramirez is hCG -- human chorionic gonadotropin. HCG is a women's fertility drug typically used by steroid users to restart their body's natural testosterone production as they come off a steroid cycle. It is similar to Clomid, the drug Bonds, Giambi and others used as clients of BALCO.

The NBA will announce LeBron James as its MVP today, The Plain Dealer of Cleveland and The Associated Press have reported, citing unnamed sources. The announcement will be made at James' alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, the reports said. The Cavaliers called a news conference for 4 p.m. ET but didn't specify the nature of the event.
