Free-agent forward Ron Artest says he's leaving the Houston Rockets to join the Los Angeles Lakers. In a text message to ESPN.com on Thursday night, Artest wrote: "I am happy to say I am goin' to L.A." ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reports that Artest and the Lakers have reached a verbal agreement on what is believed to be a three-year contract worth an estimated $18 million. Wednesday is the first day free agents are permitted to sign new deals. Artest's decision was first reported by CBSSports.com. The mercurial swingman was initially courted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Detroit Pistons made the biggest early splash in free agency today, agreeing to terms with Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. Former Bulls guard Gordon will receive a five-year, $55 million deal, while former Bucks forward Villanueva gets a five-year deal for $40 million, sources told ESPN.com's Chris Broussard. Gordon rejected deals from Chicago in excess of $50 million each of the past two seasons. Milwaukee elected to let the 24-year-old Villanueva become an unrestricted free agent earlier this week, after the Bucks determined that matching any restricted free-agent offers would move the team closer to the luxury tax threshold and limit changing the roster. Free agents can't officially sign with new teams until July 8.
VIDEO: B. MANLEY (GREATEST TRICK SHOT MAKER ON THE PLANET)
Bruce Manley, is almost as unreal as watching him on tape. An overnight YouTube sensation thanks to a Shaq Tweet where he said he wanted to find Manley for a $1000 game of H.O.R.S.E., Manley has seen his trick-shot video jump from 300 views to upwards of 300,000 in a week. He might look like one in the video, but the 25-year-old bank employee from Sparta, NJ isn’t claiming to be a miracle worker. He admits that some of the shots in his videos have taken some time to make. But as he and numerous friends and family have insisted in the comments section of this site and others, every shot in the video is legit. Dude is incredible!

Here's another MJ tribute joint called "Mike Jacks" from one of my favorite MC's Ras Kass. This is one of the hardest tribute joints ever, Ras is a BEAST.
You true MJ fans may remember this Living with Michael Jackson is a documentary, in which British journalist Martin Bashir interviewed Michael Jackson over a span of 8 months, from May 2002 to January 2003. It was shown first in the UK on 3 February 2003 and in the US three days later on ABC, introduced by Barbara Walters. Martin Bashir put the proposal to Jackson as a way to show the world the truth about him and make nothing off limits. The interview was very unusual, as it had been extremely rare for Jackson to allow such access to his personal life, or to talk so freely about his traumatic childhood. Nevertheless, he did show some reserve when asked to discuss other personal issues, such as the plastic surgery he has had.
The US Air Force has teamed up with Galpin Auto Sports and built the stealth looking Dodge Challenger Vapor, part muscle car and part fighter jet. The designers fitted the body of the car with jet enhancements that would even make Batman look twice. Special radar-blocking black paint covers the car, while a stealth exhaust allows it to run virtually silent. A roof-mounted camera detects any type of movement within a quarter mile. Biometric verification via the driver’s thumbprint gives access to the vehicle through gull wing doors.
Once seated behind the wheel (or wheels, as there is a passenger-side steering wheel as well), the pilot and co-pilot can use an advanced computer-system complete with internet access, a GPS tracking system, exterior proximity sensors, as well as switch on a thermal vision projection on the windshield to track enemy forces through the darkness. USAF designed the Challenger as a recruitment tool for future cadets. The military planned a Super Car Tour and is visiting various high schools across the US, along with a handful of auto shows to entice young hopefuls into military service.

I had to post this for Drew and all the DJ homeys. From Berlin Germany, Metrofarm Studio has produced a number of stunning, custom built DJ Desks. The new desks, in folded stainless steel and wood painted black and neon orange demand attention. They're for anybody with a musical mind and an eye for detail, looking to add spark to a lounge room, club or gallery. It's art for the DJ's sake.
